In 2017, I finished my Dual Degree in Translation and Interpreting (English-German/English-French) at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The same year, I started my Master’s in Conference Interpreting at the University of La Laguna with English, French, and Italian into Spanish as my language combination. This master’s allowed me to perfect my technique and acquire the necessary knowledge to be able to interpret. I also had the amazing opportunity of doing internships in EU institutions in Brussels (European Commission, European Parliament, and the Council of the European Union) and in the University of Trieste’s Sezione di Studi in Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori, as well as being one of the students from my class chosen for the United Nations Office at Geneva to do an interpreting internship during the 38th session of the Human Rights Council.
In 2018, I started working as an in-house translator and reviser at Amplexor International in Lisbon, where I was able to specialise as a technical translator and grow enormously as a professional. Since 2019, I’ve been working as a freelance conference interpreter, translator, and reviser in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. My business philosophy is based on four fundamental principles: communication, accuracy, response capability, and respect for my profession.
Finally, I strongly believe that a good translator and interpreter should always continue to train and develop their skills. That’s why I try to stay up to date and to carry on learning, specialising, and continually improving. These are some of the CPD specialisation courses that I’ve recently completed:
● Innovation in Interpreting Summit - Techforword
● TerpSummit 2021 - Sophie Llewellyn Smith et al.
● Course in sworn translation: practise and professionalisation for EN > ES translators - Trágora Formación
● Specialist online course in EN > ES financial translation - Trágora Formación
● Introduction to Subtitling Course - Juan Macarlupu
